Just saw Narnia 2 and discovered magic formula:
Have child or child-sized lead become an unlikely hero in a epic conflict between good and some unexplained evil (but hey they’re ugly…the audience don’t need another reason). Climax with big war scene where the good side is outnumbered or overpowered, but is saved last minute by heroic intervention from said unlikely hero. End with very very long ass parting scene.
